Saturday May 8th in Flat Rock, NC


The KGB will be playing and singing this Saturday night in western North Carolina at The Flat Rock Wine Shoppe’s ‘Back Room’. This is a stellar venue in Flat Rock, NC that hosts a great variety of music throughout the year. Show your support for this great venue and home grown music this Saturday night! Show starts at 9:00pm. See ya there!

Saturday April 10th

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences hosts “Bluegrass & Barbeque” on Saturday, April 10 from 7 to 10 pm. Tap your toes to live bluegrass music from The Kickin Grass Band, indulge in delicious barbecue from Kings Restaurant, and bid on vacation getaways and other interesting items at the Silent Auction. All proceeds benefit the Educators of Excellence Fund, a Museum program that provides unique continuing education opportunities for science teachers across the state. Hope to see you there!

The Kickin Grass band would like to thank all the fine folks that came out to Brokesville, FL for the Sertoma Spring Bluegrass Festival. We had a wonderful time and it was awesome to see all of those familiar faces and meet new folks. We’re looking forward to seeing all of you again next year!

Upcoming Shows

The Kickin Grass Band starts their local run in Troy, NC on February 20th at The Eleazer Music Barn, where good friends and great music come together for jam sessions and shows.

Next it’s off to Plymouth, NC for one of our favorite places to play. The Swamp Jam series is hosted by Robbie and Jennifer Bowen, they have an outstanding history of bringing great music to their living room in an intimate, fun environment. The house concert will be Saturday, February 27th.

And finally, The Kickin Grass Band is excited to announce a show with Adrienne Young at the famous Cat’s Cradle in Chapel Hill, NC. The show will be Friday, March 12th. Doors at 8:00pm and show starts at 9:00pm. Tickets are only $10 in advance and $12 at the door. We are excited to have Adrienne playing the show with us, she is an amazing singer/songwriter from Virginia and we know our fans will love her sound, as we do.

So come on out and be a part of this wonderful evening of music, it is assured to be a great show!

January 22-The Berkeley Cafe with Casey Driessen

Hello Music Fans! We’ll be at the Berkeley Cafe Friday Jan. 22 with Casey Driessen and the Colorfools! Casey is a dear friend and near legendary fiddle player and we’re delighted to share the stage with him. Come on out for what’s sure to be an incredible performance! Thanks to the fine folks at ‘Song of the Mountains’

On August 1st The Kickin Grass Band had the wonderful opportunity to play Song of the Mountains. This is a monthly concert series hosted by Tim White of the VW Boys. It is held in the 500 set Lincoln Theatre in beautiful Marion, Va. The Theatre has been completely restored and is gorgeous and the staff and volunteers running the event were extremely professional and friendly. Thanks to all the fans who came to see us and hopefully we picked up a few more while there! The show will be syndicated to over 190 PBS stations nation wide during the spring/summer of 2010. We will keep you posted on the release date. If you happened to make the show and have some photos of us, let us know, we’d love to post them on our website!

The Kickin Grass Band Plays The Berkeley Cafe

Come on out to the Berkeley Cafe on 217 W Martin St in Raleigh, NC on Friday night for a great night of music. Doors open at 8:PM and Cadillac Stepbacks will kick things off at 9:PM Sharp. This will be our last local show for a while so don’t miss out! On Saturday we are heading up to Marion, VA to play the PBS Syndicated show Song of the Mountains if you are in the area, come on out and be on TV!

New Dates Added!

On July 31st we will be playing a show at The Berkley Cafe in Downtown Raleigh. This will be a kick off show before a run up to Virginia to film Song of The Mountains. Our friends in The Cadillac Stepbacks will open things up for us at 9:PM and we will hit the stage running at 10:00. This will be the last local show for a while so gather up your friends and come on out!

This Saturday we’ll be at The Pittsboro General Store. Gone are the days of cramping into the front corner of the store. They have expanded and errected a nice new stage complete with a new sound system. We’re looking forward to playing at one of the places that helped us get a local following. Show starts at 8:00pm.
